Mohacs is a Danube River cruise port town in Hungary, with population around 60,000. It also serves as cruise port of Pecs (located approx 50 km / 30 mi) to the west and Villany (approx 30 km / 20 mi to the southwest). Mohacs is located on Danube's right bank.

Two famous battles took place in Mohacs: The Battle of Mohacs (1526) and The Battle of Mohacs (1687). Both represented the beginning and end of the Ottoman domination of Hungary.

In Roman times, a military camp was established near Mohacs. In the medieval Kingdom of Hungary, the town was part of historical Baranya county. During Ottoman rule, it was an administrative seat of the Ottoman administrative unit Sanjak of Mohacs. After the Habsburgs took the area from Ottomans, Mohacs was included in restored Baranya county.

Of Mohacs' population, ~84% are Hungarians, ~10% Germans, ~4% Croats and ~3% Romani (gipsies). Every spring, the town hosts the Busojaras Carnival.

Villany is a town in Hungary's Baranya county, with population around 2,500. Villany is famous for its wine. Its residents are Magyars, with Serbs' minority. Town's name derives from the Hungarian word villam (lightning). The town is located in the middle of 3 large geographical regions - Baranya Hills (north), Villany Mountains (west) and Great Hungarian Plain (south). Agricultural is region's largest industry. The hills and the mountains sustain viticulture )winegrowing industry).
