Monopoli Adriatic port town in Italy's Bari province (southeastern Apulia region), located approx 40 km (25 ml) southeast of Bari and 75 km (47 ml) northwest of Brindisi. The town has population around 50,000. Its economy is based on agriculture and tourism industries.

Among Monopoli's main tourist attractions are the Castle of Charles V (built 1525, pentagonal, until 1969 used as jail, currently exhibition and cultural event site), St Stephen Castle (built 1086, now Benedictine monastery), Jerusalem Hospital (built 1350), Cathedral (small basilica built 18th century), Palazzo Palmieri (palace built 18th century), Mount St Nicholas reserve (with important and some endemic plants).

As cruise port, Monopoli has a small natural harbour and is visited by smaller-sized luxury ships, including sailing ships.
