Muscatine is a Mississippi River cruise port and city in Iowa's Muscatine County (USA) with population around 24,000. The town is located along the river. The large west-south bend gives the city ~260 degrees of riverfront. Muscatine is approx 40 mi/65 km (50-min drive distance) from Iowa City (state's capital), approx 70 mi/110 km (75-min drive) from Cedar Rapids (Iowa's second-largest city), and approx 25 mi/40 km (30-min drive) from the Quad Cities (Illinois–Iowa border).

The closest cruise port is Davenport IA - approx 30 mi/50 km to the east (~40-min drive) along Highway 61.

As a cruise port, Muscatine was inaugurated/included for the first time in the 2024 schedule of the USA's largest cruise shipowner and operator ACL/American Cruise Lines. The next table shows ACL's "Upper Mississippi River Cruise" itinerary (8 nights/9 days).

The settlement was founded in the early-19th (1833) as a trading post known under the names "Newburg" and "Casey's Landing". It was incorporated as a town (Bloomington) in 1839 but was soon changed to reduce confusion with several other Bloomington-named towns in the Midwest. The town's name is derived from the Indian tribe Mascouten.

Muscatine's economy is largely based on agriculture but also benefits from major manufacturing companies like Bandag (subsidiary of Bridgestone/retread and recap tires), H.J.Heinz Company (food processing), Carver Pump (manufacturer), Bayer Pharma AG, KENT Corporation (Kent Nutrition, Kent Grain Processing, Kent Pet, Musco Lighting, Stanley Consultants), Musser Lumber Company, HNI Corporation (office furniture manufacturer).
