Nha Trang is a port city and capital of Vietnam's Khanh Hoa Province, located on the country's south central coast. The city is bounded by Dien Khanh District (west), Ninh Hoa district (north) and Cam Ranh town (south) and has population around 560,000.

Nha Trang is famous for its beaches and scuba diving tours. It has developed into a well-known destination for international tourists, attracting large numbers of backpackers and more affluent travelers on Asia's southeast circuit. The destination is also very popular with tourists from Vietnam as Nha Trang Bay is considered among the world's most beautiful bays. Travelers are welcome to participate in the renowned Sea Festival (held biennially). On July 14, 2008, the city hosted the "Miss Universe 2008" and on December 4, 2010 - "Miss Earth 2010". On April 14, 2015 here was made the "Face Off" (TV series) Season 8 finale.

The city was historically known as "Kauthara under the Champa". It is still home to Po Nagar Tower. As a port city, Nha Trang is also the centre for marine science technologies (based at Nha Trang Oceanography Institute). Hon Mun marine park is among the world's first four marine protected areas admitted by the international organization IUCN ("International Union for Conservation of Nature").
