Nymburk is an Elbe River cruise port and town in Czech Republic's Central Bohemian Region, with a population of around 15,000. The town is located approx 45 km (28 mi) east from the country's capital city Prague.
The settlement was founded in late-13th-century (1275 AD) by King Ottokar II of Bohemia (1233-1278) who reigned Bohemia in the period 1253-78. PÅemysl Otakar II was of the House of Premyslid - Czech royal dynasty reigning the Duchy/Kingdom of Bohemia in the period 867-1306.
Today, the town is best-known for the CEZ Basketball Nymburk - a professional basketball team that won the last 13 Czech championships. The most popular architectural landmark is downtown's Kostel Svateho Jiljí (St Giles Church, 13th-century).
As cruise port, Nymburk is included in the regular schedule of one of Europe's largest river cruise companies - Nicko Cruises (Mystic Cruises-owned brand and subsidiary).
The next table shows the Florentina ship's 9-day Elbe River cruise tour itinerary as ports sequence and times (arrival/departure). The roundtrip from homeport Prague visits only Czech ports.
