Padangbai (Padang Bai) is a small port town located on Bali Island's eastern coast (Indonesia). Padang Bai serves mainly as port for ferries to Lembar (Lombok Island) running every hour (24 hours a day, travel time about 4 hours).

From Lembar tourists can visit the following popular Bali Indonesia travel destinations on or close to Lombok:

  • Gili Islands - from Lembar take shuttle bus to Mataram or Bangsal. The cheapest transportation option is public minibus / bemo (Lembar to Mataram) and from there - public bus to Pemenang or Bangsal. From Bangsal take public ferry to Gili Islands. The most visited Gilis are Trawangan, Air and Meno.
  • To Mataram are offered bemos (mini-busses) leaving from Lembar Harbor. Tourist bus shuttles are also available. Alternatively, taxis at the passenger terminal are available 24 hours. The Perama company operates regularly scheduled shuttle buses departing from Port Lembar to Mataram, also to Kuta and Tetebatu.
  • From Lombok to Bali Island are offered regular ferries to Padang Bai and Serangan (southeastern Bali).

Padangbai's main tourist attractions are its 4 beaches - Main, Blue Lagoon (Padang Kurungan), Bias Tugal (Little Beach) and Mimba (Black Pearl). The town is also popular with its temples (puras) - Silayukti, Penataran Agung, Dalem, Segara, Puseh, Pesamuhan, Telaga Mas, and Tanjung Sari, all of which are reachable by motorbike or car.
