Piombino is a port town in Livorno province (Tuscany, Italy), with population around 35,000. It is located between two seas (Ligurian and Tyrrhenian) and also in front of Elba Island.

The town was established by the Etruscans, and during Middle Ages became an important seaport serving Republic of Pisa (independent state, 10-11th centuries). Port Piombino (aka Piombino Marina) still serves the local industry and tourism. Regularly scheduled ferries from Piombino connect to Portoferraio (Elba Island) and Olbia (Sardinia Island).

The list of best known tourist attractions includes Sant'Antimo Cathedral (built 1377), Rivellino (Tower-Gate, built 1212), Chiesa della Misericordia (13th century), Cassero Pisano (built 1553), Palazzo Comunale (Town Hall, built 1435), St Anne Chapel (16th century), Cisterna di Cittadella , Casa delle Bifore (13th century).
