Poissy is a Seine River cruise port and town in France's Yvelines department (Ile-de-France region) with a population of around 35,000. The town is in Paris City's western suburbs, located approx 24 km (15 mi) from downtown Paris. On shore excursions/bus tours from Poissy can be visited Versailles (approx 19 km / 12 mi west of Paris) and the famous Chateau de Versailles/Palace.

Historically, Poissy is known for the Colloquy of Poissy - a religious (Catholic-Huguenot) conference which took place here on September 9, 1561. Its object was to reconcile France's Catholics and Protestants (Huguenots). However, the conference was fruitless as it broke up a month later (on October 9), after which both religious doctrines became irreconcilable.

Current-day Poissy is best-known for housing the defunct French manufacturers Automobiles Gregoire (producing cars and aircraft engines in the period 1902-1924), Matford (producing cars and trucks in the period 1934-1940), Ford SAF (subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, 1916-1954), Simca (1934-1970, founded by Fiat), and Talbot (London-based automobile manufacturer, 1903-1994) which all had factories in the town. Now in Poissy is functioning only the factory of Peugeot.

As cruise port, Poissy is included in the regular schedule of one of Europe's largest river cruise companies - CroisiEurope. Next tables show the ports sequences and times (arrival/departure) of CroisiEurope's Poissy-inclusive Seine River cruise tour itineraries in north-central France (between homeports Honfleur and Paris) which are operated by the ships, Renoir and Botticelli.
