Port Blair is a port city and capital of India's Andaman Islands Archipelago (Bay of Bengal), with population around 110,000.

Port Blair Harbour serves as the entry point for visiting Nicobar and Andaman Islands (marine territory comprising of 572 islands, including 37 inhabited). The city is connected with mainland India by sea (ferries) and air (to and from Kolkata, Chennai, New Delhi, Visakhapatnam, Bhubaneshwar). All flights to Andaman Islands are served by Veer Savarkar Airport (international-domestic traffic). Sea connections to mainland India (Kolkata, Chennai and Visakhapatnam) are served by Haddo Wharf (Port Blair port). In the harbour are also located INS Jarawa (Indian Navy base), as well as Air Force and Coast Guard bases.

In mid-July 2020, India’s marine authorities announced plans to build a 50-slot Yacht Marina for foreign-flagged inter-island cruise ships, superyachts and pleasure boats sailing the Andaman Islands. The Yacht Marina at Port Blair Harbour is planned for completion by December 2021. The Marina (to replace the current anchorage) will provide logistics and boat repair facilities, a dedicated passenger terminal (max capacity ~1000 tourists, food court, shops). The project could also include upgrades for Port Blair's existing Passenger Terminals - at Haddo Wharf and Phoenix Bay.
