Port Lincoln is a city located on lower Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. The port is on Boston Bay's shore, which opens into Spencer Gulf to the east. It is the largest city in the West Coast region, located approx 280 km (174 ml) directly from state's capital Adelaide (646 km /401 ml by road). In Port Lincoln live most millionaires per capita in Australia. It also Australia's "Seafood Capital". The city has population around 17,000.

The economy is based on grain-handling facilities (annual capacity over 337,500 tons), food canning and fish processing, wool, beef, lambs, tuna farming (exporting mainly to Japan). In Port Lincoln SA is deployed Australia's largest commercial fishing fleet. The city also functions as the regional centre for corporate services, government administration and commerce. In the past years, housing demand led to boom in property development, both commercial and residential.

A proposal was made by Centrex Metals to export iron ore via an expanded terminal facility at the port's existing wharf. It was approved in October 2009, but was soon abandoned following strong public opposition due to concerns of potential harm that dust plumes or spillage might cause to the dominant seafood industry.

Port Lincoln SA is a tourism centre, due to its coastal locality and scenic beauty. Ready access to both the Great Australian Bight and Spencer Gulf mark Port Lincoln out as blue water playground for scuba diving, yachting, game fishing and shark cage diving. Coffin Bay National Park, Kellidie Bay Conservation Park and Lincoln National Park are within easy driving distance.
