Puerto Chacabuco is a port town in Aisen province (Chile), located at the head of Aisen Fjord, south of Puerto Montt. It is the region's main seaport serving cruise ships to Laguna San Rafael National Park and is also the terminus of Navimag ferry service from Puerto Montt. Town's population is around 1,300.

The busy seaport serves river ferries and is linked to the old Puerto Aisen port by Chile's longest suspension bridge. Cruise ship tourists often take inland tours to Coyhaique to see the Chilean Patagonia landscape of glorious fiords and glaciers, high mountains, rivers, lakes, lagoons.

Before the Patagonian forest fires (2008) and the 1991 eruption of Mount Hudson volcano, Puerto Aisen was Aisen Fjord's main port. As the earth erosion decreased Aisen River's navegability, the port was relocated further to the coast - where is now Puerto Chacabuco.

Puerto Chacabuco cruise terminal

Puerto Chacabuco is among the ports of call on itineraries that include cruising through the Patagonian channels and Chilean fjords in the Tierra del Fuego provinces of Chile and Argentina.
