Puerto Princesa is a port city in western Palawan Island (Philippines), with popul;population around 260,000. Puerto Princesa is among Philippines' 38 independent cities that are not controlled by the province to which they belong.
Currently, Puerto Princesa is a famous tourist location (known as Philippines' Eco-Tourism Center) offering numerous seafood restaurants, beach resorts, hotels (basic to 5-star premium), bars, shops (including large shopping malls).
Most travellers come to see Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, located approx 50 km (30 ml) north of the city. The city is also the gateway for tours to Tubbataha Reef.
Port Puerto Princesa serves domestic passenger ferries to Coron (Busuanga Island), Iloilo (Visayan island) and Manila (Luzon Island).
