Roses is a port town in Western Mediterranean (Costa Brava region) in Girona province (Catalonia, Spain). The town has total area approx 46 km2 (18 mi2) and population around 20,000. The other large Costa Brava cruise port is Palamos. Port Roses (aka Roses Bay Port) is an important commercial fishing port and very popular tourism travel destination in Catalonia.

Port Roses (locode ESROS) is on the Bay of Roses, surrounded by two nature parks. The town is approx 30 km (20 mi) from the border with France, 65 km (40 mi) from Girona and 160 km (100 mi) from Barcelona. Travel distance to Barcelona Airport is 2 hours, to Girona Airport 50 min, to Figueres Train Station 20 min (20 km / 12 mi). During summer, shops are open everyday between 10 am - 10 pm.

Popular tourist attractions include Trinity Castle (16th-century), megalithic complex (part of Cap de Creus nature park), La Ciutadella (4th-century BC military fortification, archaeological site), Mas d’en Coll (12th-century fortified mansion / farmhouse with growing vineyards owned by Celler Espelt), Santa Maria Church (18th-century), Almadrava (beach), Cala Montjoi (cove), watersport activities in Bay of Roses (kitesurfing, parasailing, seakayaking, scuba diving, rowing, sailing). Local cuisine specialty is Suquet de Peix de Roses (fresh fish stew cooked with potatoes).

Visiting cruise ships are mainly superyachts and smaller-sized ships owned by luxury companies/sea travel brands like Seabourn, SeaDream, Crystal, Windstar, Azamara, Ritz-Carlton, CroisiEurope, Mystic Cruises.

Cruise ships to Roses Girona anchor near Marina Roses, to where passengers are transported via ship's tender boats. Downtown is approx 0,5 km away from the port.

Anchorage for large-sized cruise liners (min draft 15 m / 50 ft) is also available. Distance from the anchorage zone to port's tender pier (dock) is less than 1km (0,5 mi). The pier also serves tour boats and yachts. Port Roses has around 700 moorings, raging in length between 6-45 m. Port's entrance has width of around 70 m (230 ft) and depth 9 m (30 ft).

Marina Roses has min depth (max draft) of 6 m (20 ft) and can berth boats with LOA length up to 45 m (148 ft). The marina is on the fishing harbour's northern part (port's entrance faces south). This boating facility has capacity around 485 boats (including 374 berths / fixed moorings) and is managed by the municipality-owned company Port de Roses SA.
