Sandane is a cruise port and a small town in Norway's Gloppen Municipality (Vestland County) with population around 2,500. Sandane is at the end of Gloppefjorden (Gloppenfjorden, 12-km/7,5-mi long fjord). As cruise port, Sandane is visited by smaller-sized ships and luxury superyachts operated by companies like Phoenix Reisen, Crystal, Seabourn. Most calls are on roundtrip itineraries leaving from Germany (Bremerhaven or Hamburg).

The town is also close to lake Breimsvatn (Breimsvatnet) and Myklebustbreen (Snonipbreen/Norway's 7th largest glacier). In close proximity is also Jostedalsbreen National Park that encompasses Europe's largest glacier Jostedalsbreen - total area 487 km2 (188 mi2), length 60 km (37 mi), ice thickness 600 m (2000 ft), highest elevation 1957 m (6421 ft).

Sandane Airport is approx 10 km (6 mi) northwest of downtown and along E39 Highway (1330-km/830-mi long road in Norway and Denmark). The airport is served with regularly scheduled flights (by Wideroe) operated as a government-subsidized public service linking to Oslo (via Sogndal Airport).
