Skomer Island (Sgomer) is located off Pembrokeshire coast (western Wales, UK). The island covers a total area of approx 3 km2 (1 ml2) and no population. Skomer was permanently inhabited for the last time in 1950 (by the Codd family.

Isle of Skomer is managed by Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales and is best known for its wildlife. Around half world's population of Manx shearwaters (puffinus) nest on the island. Island's colony of Atlantic puffins is the largest in southern Britain. Skomer vole bank vole (subspecies) is unique / endemic to Skomer.

The island is also famous for its standing stone, stone circles, prehistoric houses ruins. Skomer is designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, Special Protection Area, and National Nature Reserve. The surrounding waters are marine nature reserve.

Boats to Skomer Island depart daily from Martin's Haven (mainland Wales), with travel time 10 min. Exceptions are all Mondays in April through October, between 10 am and 12-noon. Return crossings are at 3 pm. There is a limit on the number of tourists allowed to visit Skomer (250 per day).
