Slavonski Brod is a Sava River (Danube River) cruise port and city in eastern Croatia, located near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. By population (around 60,000) the city is ranked Croatia's 7th largest.

Slavonski Brod is located approx 197 km (122 ml) southeast of country's capital Zagreb. The city is on the highway linking Zagreb with Lipovac (Bosnia-Herzegovina) and Belgrade (Serbia), and also on the Zagreb–Belgrade railway. Approx 19 km (12 ml) from downtown passes a new highway connecting (via Hungary) Northern Europe with Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

City's main industries are agriculture (farming, viticulture / grapes, fruits), metal-processing, wooden furniture manufacturing, textiles, food (brewery), building materials (lime). Djuro Djakovic Holding  is Southeastern Europe's largest metal-mechanical engineering company, which production includes locomotives, tramways, wagons, bridges, nuclear reactors, auto parts, heavily armed and armoured vehicles (including battle tanks), agricultural machinery. Service industries (especially tourism) are also well developed.
