Stadt Roth is a Danube River cruise port and town in Germany's Bavaria state (Middle Franconia region's Roth district), located approx 25 km (16 mi) south of Nuremberg. The town has population around 25,000 and covers an area of approx 96 km2 (37 ml2).

Stadt Roth (fka Roth bei Nurnberg) was first mentioned in 1060 AD. During Middle Ages, it was granted asylum rights within city walls. Later it attracted Huguenot refugees fleeing France due to religious persecution. They brought with them knowledge about making of wires and established an industry which still exists today.

Annually, here are held Jazz and Blues festival and Datev Challenge Roth (triathlon race). Major tourist attraction is Schloss Ratibor - castle built in 1535-1538 as hunting lodge.

Protestant Church was created between 1511-1513 and a Romanesque Tower was incorporated in its building. In 1738, the church was redecorated in Baroque style. After a fire in 1878, new Neo-Gothic tower was built in the middle axis of the church, and also were added an altar.
