Ustí nad Labem (fka Aussig) is an Elbe River cruise port and city in the Czech Republic, with a population of around 95,000. Ustí is located at the confluence of two rivers (Bílina and Elbe) and is a major industrial city (country's 7th-largest by population), a major river port (also serving cargo shipping) and an important railway junction (with 4 stations also serving cross-border trains of EuroCity and InterCity).
Elbe River Line (a major inland waterway) connects the Czech Republic with Germany, Benelux Union (Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg) and France, as well as to some large seaports. Freight shipping and river cruises are run on the section Pardubice-Chvaletice-Usti-Hrensko-Hamburg.
Usti is also connected to E-442 highway (Liberec-Decín-Ustí-Dresden) and 3 other international highways (I-8, I-30, I-13). Express highway D8 connects directly Prague (country's capital) with Berlin. The city's mass transport network is based on trolleybuses. The nearest airports are in Prague (92 km) and Dresden (75 km). Mariansky Bridge (road bridge over Elbe River) was inaugurated in 1998.
