Vukovar is a Vuka River (Danube River) cruise port and town in eastern Croatia, with population around 27,000. This is country''s biggest river port, located at the confluence of Vuka and Danube.

Vukovar's economy is based on farming, livestock breeding, viticulture (grapes), food-processing and footwear industries, textiles, trade, tourism. Among the most popular buildings are Eltz Manor (18th century), Baroque architecture (downtown), Franciscan monastery (with Sts Philip and James church), water tower, Syrmia County palace, St Nicholas (Orthodox church). Many buildings were damaged during the 4-year war between Croatia and Yugoslavia (1991-95).

Port's infrastructure was only partly reconstructed, and still doesn't meet cruise industry's requirements. The port area that includes the cruise quay and the access to railway tracks is inappropriate to serve Europe's river cruising market. The port also lacks warehouse capacity.
