Wusterwitz is an Oder River cruise port and town in Germany's Brandenburg state (Potsdam-Mittelmark district) with population around 3000. The town is located on the west bank of Wusterwitzer See (lake) and west of Brandenburg an der Havel.
As a potential market town, the settlement was founded in mid-12th-century (1159 AD) by Archbishop Wichmann von Seeburg-Querfurt. However, these plans didn't meet the expectations and were eventually abandoned. Feldsteinkirche (Romanesque church) is the only building that reminds of this grand plan.
Oder River originates in the Czech Republic and flows approx 740 km (461 ml) through Poland. For 187 km (116 ml) the river forms part of Oder-Neisse line (Germany-Poland border). Oder River flows into Szczecin Lagoon (north of Szczecin Poland) and then into three river branches (Dziwna, Swina and Peene) that empty into Baltic Sea via Bay of Pomerania.
