Arosa Flora

A-Rosa Flora ship cruises on Rhine River in Holland, Belgium and Germany departing from homeports Amsterdam and Basel. The riverboat was launched in April 2014, as fleet's newest addition, with an inaugural voyage on April 10 (out of Cologne). The inaugural cruise itinerary (themed "Rhine North Tulips”) visited Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp. Flora's sistership is Arosa Silva.

Cabins

A-Rosa Flora cruise ship is similar to the Silva ship, except she has more suites meeting the demand of A-Rosa North American guests. Flora ship has a total number of 91 cabins (of which 6 Suite, 54 French Balconies, 29 with 1 or 2 non-opening windows) in 4 grades. For the first time in A-Rosa fleet, this vessel features two family staterooms accommodating four people. Highest category staterooms are "Balcony Suite" - the first Suite accommodations on Arosa ships.

Shipboard facilities

A-Rosa Flora Restaurants, Lounges & Bars include: Market Restaurant (main dining), Flora Bar, Cafe Restaurant (casual, Afternoon tea), Wine Bar (itinerary-based regional delicacies), Flora Lounge & Bar (show), Sun Deck (Bar & Grill, shaded relaxation area, heated pool, giant chess, mini golf and putting green), Flora Atrium (lobby). The most prominent onboard features of this ship design are the indoor spa, 2 saunas, spacious gym and the outdoor swimming pool.

A-Rosa Flora cruise deals are inclusive of Wi-Fi Internet, all tours /excursions (including on bicycles), ground transfers, live onboard entertainment (local performers, enrichment lectures, food, and wine tastings), alcohol (beer, wine, spirits), 24-hour coffee/tea, replenished daily bottled water.

ARosa Flora's tours ashore are usually themed as "food and wine", culture and history excursions (visiting museums and architecture, old towns touring and sightseeing), with sports and leisure activities.

Being fleet's newest boat, ARosa Flora ship is in the same vessel-class with A-Rosa Silva (2012). Each of the riverboats is equipped with 4 energy-efficient "Volvo Penta" diesel engines (model "D12-450MH", total power output 1320 kW / 1800 HP), plus 2x auxiliary diesel generators and 1x diesel generator (for in-port operations). The boat's propulsion is "Schottel" and includes 1x bow thruster (type "SPJ 82") and 4x rudder propellers (type "STP 200" /twin propellers). The wheelhouse/bridge and top deck awnings can be lowered when passing under low bridges.

The Flora riverboat offers complimentary bicycles on land tours and excursions in each of the visited ports.

A-Rosa Flora was launched in 2014 on March 30. The ship was christened in Mainz (Germany) by Godmother Yvonne Catterfeld - German TV actress (movies and shows) and singer. The ship was ready by the end of November 2013, but the launch was postponed for strategic reasons. To save space, the shipbuilder Neptune Werf relocated the vessel to the Meyer Werft's shipyard in Papenburg, where it stayed until the new delivery date.

Riverboat's namesake is the newbuild (2019-launched) Galapagos cruise ship Celebrity Flora.
