Avalon View

The 2020-built/2021-inaugurated MS Avalon View ship cruises on Rhine and Danube Rivers with itineraries departing from homeports Amsterdam (Holland), Basel (Switzerland), Budapest (Hungary), Prague (Czech Republic), Berlin (Germany), Deggendorf (Germany). View is among the newest riverboats in Avalon Waterways "Suite Ship" fleet.

Fleet's newest boat Avalon View is the company's 17th suite-only ship. Before View, Avalon launched the sistership Envision (2019).

Cabins

Avalon View cruise ship is part of Avalon Waterways cutting-edge Suite Ships. This magnificent riverboat features two decks of Panorama Suites, all with wall-to-wall windows, transforming the living space into an open-air unique balcony. The Panorama Suites boast 200 sq. feet, which is more than 30% than the standard, and affords passengers incomparable opportunity to face each morning the splendid scenery.

Avalon View has a total of 83 staterooms (of which 2 Royal Suite, 65 Panorama Suite, 16 with non-opening windows) in 6 grades.

MS Avalon View onboard amenities include the Panorama Bistro alternative dining, expanded fitness center, spacious Sky Deck with lounge chairs, complimentary Wi-Fi access, whirlpool and al fresco lunches at View's Sky Bistro.

Avalon View restaurants include View (dining room), Panorama Bistro, Sky Bistro (al-fresco). Avalon View also has Panorama Lounge & Bar (observation, with an outside viewing deck), Club Lounge, Library/Internet Corner, View Atrium Lobby, Hair Salon, Fitness, Sun Deck (Sky Lounge & Bar, Sky Bistro, Whirlpool, shaded seating, deck games area).

The Switzerland-flagged MS Avalon View is Avalon Waterways' 14th riverboat in company's "Suite Ship" class. The design features 2 full cabin decks with French Balconies (wall-to-wall and floor-ceiling sliding windows) and spacious public venues (all with full-length floor-ceiling windows).

Each Avalon "Suite Ship" is powered by two Caterpillar Marine diesel engines (model C32 ACERT, total power output 1,4 MW / 1930 HP), plus an emergency diesel generator. The ship's propulsion is diesel-electric, with one azimuth thruster (at the bow) and a "Silent Drive System" (separating the ship's engines from passenger staterooms).

Riverboat's Godmother is Meredith Louise Vieira (1953-born US journalist and TV personality), best known with The View talk show (1997-2006) of NBC News. The new ship's christening ceremony is scheduled for April 6, 2020, to be held in Ybbs an der Donau, Austria.
