MS Douro Princess

The 1999-built MS Douro Princess cruise ship has passenger capacity 80 (plus 20 crew/staff). Douro River itineraries are from homeport Oporto (roundtrip departures) and visit ports in Portugal and Spain (Vega de Terron/Salamanca).

The riverboat is owned by Mystic Cruises and operated via its fully-owned subsidiary company Douro Azul (Portugal).

The ship is often chartered by the UK travel company Saga Cruises.

The vessel is Portugal-flagged (MMSI number TBA) and registered in Lisbon. The shipbuilder is WestSEA (shipyard in Viana do Castelo, Portugal).

The ship's amenities include a restaurant, lounge bar with large panoramic windows, partially-shaded sun deck, all of which afford beautiful views of the passing riverside scenery. The bar offers a wide range of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. Passengers can just sign for the beverages and settle their bar bill at the end of the voyage. Coffee and tea are offered free of charge throughout the day at the lounge. The restaurant is also located on the Douro Deck. The Sun Deck passengers enjoy open-air relaxation on padded garden loungers and deckchairs.

Douro Princess staterooms are spread over 2 decks. They are all air-conditioned, compact, with satellite television, twin beds, hairdryer, en-suite bathroom with shower. Upper Deck cabins are with large windows. Main Deck cabins are slightly larger, but with smaller windows.

The partially-shaded sun deck is the ship's best vantage point to enjoy the beautiful views. All passengers eat in one sitting in the window-lined dining room. Breakfasts and lunches are buffet-style, while dinners are waiter-served 4-course affairs. In the evenings, local performers come aboard for live dancing and singing entertainment. Wi-Fi internet access is available at extra charge.
