RV Rajmahal

RV Rajmahal ship cruises in India, on the rivers Ganges and Hooghly, with regularly scheduled itinerary program since mid-February 2014. Ship's itineraries are 5-day (roundtrip from Kolkata/Calcutta) and 7-day (between Patna and Farakka Barrage).

The riverboat is owned by the Indian river cruise company ABN (Assam Bengal Navigation) and often chartered by the travel companies AmaWaterways-APT River Cruises (Australia) and Phoenix Reisen (Germany). The vessel was built in Kolkata India. It is powered by three engines and has an extra-shallow draught and lower profile in comparison to conventionally designed Ganges River navigating boats. This allows RV Rajmahal to cruise upstream the river, way further than any of its competitors.

Cabins

Rajmahal cruise ship has 22 cabins in total, of which 18 are double cabins (sized 205 ft2 / 19 m2). Most of those are located on the upper deck, plus 4 on the main deck. The ship also has 4 single cabins (sized 170 ft2 / 16 m2) for which the line charges no supplement. All staterooms are with French balconies, including those with single-occupancy rates.

Shipboard facilities

The ship features stylish decor, with refined touches of colonial elegance. Handblocked cotton fabrics of Indian-inspired designs are used throughout. There is a comfortable bar, saloon and restaurant, together with a canopied sundeck. The small spa offers a wide range of massages and treatments.

All public rooms and passenger cabins are air-conditioned. Food onboard is a mixture of continental and Assamese, which is milder than most Indian cuisine. Beer, wine and spirits are available. The onboard language is English. The onboard currency is EUR.
